Give Away the Pattern Instead, Right?

Ay, ay, ay.  What a week!  What...a...week.  I just wrapped up a big ol' beautiful photoshoot with an amazing magazine around 10pm tonight, not including time to unpack a-dozen-or-so tupperwares filled with goodies and supplies.

Unpacking will have to wait though (sorry, honey), as it's time for me to go pack my suitcase for Spring Market.  My flight leaves in a just a few hours.  What am I doing blogging at the expense of much-needed sleep?  Good question. I'll think about that tomorrow.

I'm looking forward to sitting still on a plane.  And I'm sneaking off to the Theatre on Saturday.  Thoroughly Modern Millie.  Yep.  I'll get to sit still for that too.

While I'm gone, have at this free quilt pattern (follow link, then click "Download" under the quilt photo).  I should have posted about it a while ago.  It's the one I put together for Free Spirit.  I had fun laying out the instructions.  Heck, I had fun making the quilt.

I'd like to make a big version too.  To keep.  Most of the quilts in my arsenal are ancient.  And not good-ancient.  More like high-school-ancient.  I have a bad habit of giving new quilts away.  Do they make a patch for that?

Hi Heather! Have a great time at Spring Market. And congrats on the magazine shoot. Home Companion is one of my favorite magazines and it's a perfect fit for you. You already know I love that quilt pattern. It's so clear and easy to read. Can't wait to hear all about the Market. Hope to be there someday, myself! Safe travels! --T

One thing I love about Home Companion is their dedication to artists. I will look forward to getting my copy and seeing you in there! Congratulations! Blessings for safe travels.

Are you going to the one in Salt Lake. I only live 45 minuets from there. What does one need to get into the show. I do have a business license and all.

Congrats on the magazine shoot! I love the quilt, especially in your gorgeous fabrics!

Great quilt! If you find a patch for not giving away all the new things you make let me know. (I need one.)

What a beautifully composed photograph.

hi there! i've been lurking for a while so i had to chime in when i saw this quilt! it's beautiful! i have a question though...how did you make and attach the ruffles?

Have a splendid time at the Spring market! The photo is breath taking, ME's home companion is a classic and inpirational magazine. Congrats!!

This is an amazing photo! Wow, spring is here & summer is near...

I hear they are working on a cure for generosity in quilters and crafters in general, though the addiction to giving away your hardest work seems to be worst in quilters. Although, it is hard to balance the cure as one of the side effects seems to be guilt for treating yourself to your own creativity. Hmmnph -- I think you're not the only one who needs the treatment, or some new quilts for the house.

Have a great time at market and enjoy sitting still, oh, dreams of sitting still...

Absolutely stunning quilt!

Oh Heather, sooo excited about the magazine shoot! Way, way cool! When is it coming out? You make our city proud! I feel like I know you, so I am thrilled!

Wow, I love it. Someday I'll learn to quilt. I will.

I love that quilt! I've been looking for a quilt pattern to make to put on the back of my sofa that would look good and would be great to snuggle under to read a good book. I think I have to make this! :-) I'd love some directions or a tutorial on how to do the ruffle edging. I'm OK making ruffles, but how do you finish the edges of the quilt with them?

Congrats on your HC photo shoot. That is an issue I'll definitely have to get. Safe travels!

very nice pattern.

I cannot wait to see your stuff in my favoritest magazine! You are going to bring that Home Companion up another notch. Congrats! One of my fantasies is to be in one of their issues, so now I can do it through you and your blog! Thanks.

I hope you have so much fun in SLC and I am so excited that you get to see TMM, one of my favorites. I was in Pipers (a fabric/yarny store in SLC that carries some of your fabric line) and I thought of you. Anyway fun stuff.
