I so need to pop my head in here. Hello. Hello. Hi. I'm still kickin', still alive.
I'm making about 75 kits for my hands-on class in Florida, hence the plump
fabric rolls. I'm putting the finishing touches on the sewing pattern
for the kits as well (getting closer to publishing). Then there's the
style guides for Trash Ties and their cute little pink boxes, Trash
Ties booth design, brochure, order forms, press release, press kits,
etc. Are you spinning with me yet?
Once those things are taken care of, it's back to outlining my 3 other lecture/classes for Florida and putting together all necessary visuals, handouts and fun surprises for those classes. All of this by Monday morning when my plane takes off. I'll be back at the end of next week for one day before heading out to Vegas to introduce Trash Ties to the beauty industry.
Come July 18th, I can jump off the treadmill for a couple of weeks - squeeze my kids extra, make real food for dinner and paint a room or something -- shake things up. I have a gaggle of family (including Laura - yay!) coming to town at the beginning of August and I couldn't be more excited to play, play, play!

Florida?!!! You say Florida? I have yet to find more then one bolt of your fabric here in Florida, so I must be in the wrong part of Florida! Where is this class?! *giddy with excitement*

Just love seeing the fabric on those big 'ol fat bolts. Somehow its so much nicer than the little flat ones we usually get, isn't it?
Posted by: joanna | July 09, 2007 at 06:09 PM
I really like your picture in the banner and on the Trash Ties Web site. On one you have the flower above the right ear and on the other you have it above the left ear. What does it mean? A little web reaearch produced the following.
Conflicting answers are found to the question of the symbolism of wearing a flower behind the right ear. According to Volume 8 of Peoples of the Earth, Polynesia and Micronesia, a flower behind the right ear means that the wearer is looking for a sweetheart. However, Alice Coats, in Flowers and Their Histories, mentions that "in the South Sea Islands a red hibiscus flower worn behind the left ear signifies 'I desire a lover'; behind the right ear 'I have a lover' and behind both ears 'I have one lover, but desire another'". Also, an article in National Geographic from October 1962, p.581, states "She wears blooms over the left ear to signify that she is unmarried." A "Dear Abby" column from the September 14, 1989 San Francisco Chronicle, also states: "If a girl wears a flower over her left ear, it means she's uninvolved, approachable. A flower worn over her right ear means she is spoken for, romantically involved, so hands off." Estoy turniendo so Pierna.
Hope you got some sleep on the plane.

Speaking of Florida, there I was in Jacksonville at a great quilt shop near my sister's house, and I spotted your fabric. I opened my mouth and out came, "Oh, there's some Heather Bailey, I know her!" All the chattering near me immediately ceased, and all eyes turned my way. Yikes. I meekly revised the statement. "Um, I know OF her. I read her blog. You know. I recognize her. Her fabric." Way to make friends. Lie about knowing you!
