Pincushion Class - June 28th

Velvetstrawberriea_hb
What an awesome response -- thank you all for your enthusiastic feedback on my new fabric collections.  I'm thrilled to release them; it's painful to keep such an exciting secret to myself for so long.  I'm going to keep the contest going through the weekend so everyone will get a chance to participate, so expect news on the winners come Monday or so.

Hb_strawberry_w_3 And yes, I'm back in the blog saddle again, as promised.  I have tons of things to post about these days, one of which is the class I'm teaching next weekend at Blissful Living Studio (part of Domestic Bliss).  We're going to have a summery, pincushion-y, strawberry-y fun-fest, making luscious, velvet strawberry pincushions, chatting with girlfriends & sharing my favorite Strawberry Pretzel Dessert ice cream (homemade!) -- recipe coming up next.

The class includes a pattern for a pear, an apple, a tomato & two strawberry pincushions (yes, my pear design now has friends -- and they'll all be available in the same sewing pattern in the next couple of weeks).  I'll bring the supplies for making our strawberry pincushions -- and I'll bring the ice cream.  While Hb_strawberry_w_3 everyone's busy stitching away on their strawberries, I'll go over the instructions for making the other fruit pincushions included in the pattern.

Kristin has an amazing talent for putting events together.  I'm pretty sure she has some other fun flourishes to add to the class as well. We'll have a good time.

So, if you're in the area & would like to attend, contact Blissful Living & sign up.  Here's their adorable invitation.

I'll see you there.

I wish I lived closer :( but I am not that far - I'm in California , for now I'll enjoy your blog - please send us an update enjoy it for us that cannot be there. - Susie

the pin cushions are TOO cute, wish I was closer too, but guess I'll just have to read your blog to see how everything went...love the new colors of your site too...very summer-cheery looking! Have fun with your class! Aloha-Tina

Actually, I've decided that you should come to Australia. Wouldn't that be lovely? You could visit a few different cities in different states, enjoy our sunshine (i.e. don't come now, we're in winter. Queensland is still sunny - my state, but other states are getting quite chilly) meet us great people and promote your gorgeous fabric and hold an inspiring class or two. haha :D

The dessert recipe sounds SO yummy. Please share...& soon! It seems perfect for summer. :o)

Just got back to CA from a glass artist conference in Portland. What was taking up all of the space in my suitcase? Yards of your lovely fabric!!! Seeing as the glass gets shipped home I home I felt an obligation to use the valuable real estate left in my suitcase for stowing away any finds. Thanks much for for providing such inspiration!

I wish I lived in Arizona, so I could to to the class! The fact that you and Jona both live there makes me even more jealous! I can't wait until the pattern comes out, I have been wanting one of those pear pincushions ever since you posted it!

I just made one of your square pincushions from the Quilts and More magazine for a swap partner. It came out so cute, I plan on making a bunch more for myself and friends!!!! Just wondering if it would be ok if I made some and gave them away on my blog? I would of course link to your blog, but I am pretty sure that everyone who reads my blog knows who you are lol

Heather, I love the new designs. You're incredible. And the strawberries are darling. You're my idol!

I'd really like these! Please make the patterns available as soon as possible! Thanks.

I love the new fabric. It is gorgeous! What a lucky duck to win that giveaway!!!

The pin cushions were adorable.

Oh to be closer! Sounds like a dream class. Love pincushions! Especially these fruits! Have fun...

Thank you baby Jesus - finally the pear pattern -and strawberries, too!

I can't wait for the pattern!!! I've been patiently awaiting the pear pincushion pattern ever since your first post about it. Now it looks like I'll have the pleasure of making a whole fruit basket of pincushions. You've made my day!

That's the most adorable strawberry ever. Mother Nature is gonna be ticked. And then when she calms down, no doubt she'll be signing up for your class. Killer flyer!

I too love your new fabrics. My daughter and I are starting to cut into them this week. Yeepee! Love the cute strawberries, they are adorable.

I love the strawberry pincushions: wasn't one used as a table cloth weight in one of your photos earlier? I'll have to investigate =)

As much as I'd love to have my own little strawberry, I think 5000 miles may be a bit far to travel for a lesson! I'm sure you'll have a brilliant day.

wow! I linked to your blog through *True Up!* and it's totally brightened my day! I think your strawberries are darling!

I second a UK visit. Looks like an enjoyable and rewarding day.

A great workshop, followed by yummy homemade strawberry dessert! YES, I am jealous!

Dear Heather,

Just love your strawberry pincushions! Can't wait to see photos from your class. Ever consider coming to the New York City area? I have my own version of a strawberry pincushion - looks like a yummy ice cream sundae. Take a peek at www.frannieandme.blogspot.com

Thank you

I just had to tell you that I love your work! The fabrics are beautiful; the trash ties ingenious, the look of the blog, the crafts you post, all are fantastic.

I just stumbled across your blog through http://apronstringsandothertiesthatbind.wordpress.com/
and had to leave some comments.

How cool! Why not an online class? You know, sign up, pay tuition, get the materials shipped to you and get a password to log in to the tutorial + pattern pages? Just a thought!

Blessings on your class today..Let us all know how it went.. Great idea, would be great class for our library>>>

Love those cute strawberries. Any chance of them being available online as a kit? Look forward to your online store opening in June, I'm definitely ordering your fabric to make a dress for my grand-daughter. Love from Iceland.

so. adorable. I love how the strawberries look almost hot pink!

Heather,
What fabricsstores here in Phoenix carry your fabric? I would love to find some. I love making dresses for my little girls and your fabric would be perfect. BTW, love your blog.

Wouhaou!! so cute!! :)

Who won the contest

Love your blog Heather and your strawberry pincushion, not to mention your fabric range. Keep up the wonderful, inspiring work.
Warmly lenna

wouaw, once again... wouaw........
Just one question : where can I find your so nice creations in Switzerland ??????????
And don't stop to make so nice things....... don't stop !

I love your pincushions! For some reason I keep thinking artichoke!! I can't help it, my brain never stops with just one. Would a fig be too boring? My daughter would like an ice cream sundae pincushion for her projects!
