Pincushion Class - June 28th

What
an awesome response -- thank you all for your enthusiastic feedback on
my new fabric collections. I'm thrilled to release them; it's painful
to keep such an exciting secret to myself for so long. I'm going to
keep the contest going through the weekend so everyone will get a
chance to participate, so expect news on the winners come Monday or so.
And yes, I'm back in the blog saddle again, as promised. I have tons
of things to post about these days, one of which is the class I'm
teaching next weekend at Blissful Living Studio (part of Domestic Bliss). We're going to have a
summery, pincushion-y, strawberry-y fun-fest, making luscious, velvet
strawberry pincushions, chatting with girlfriends & sharing my
favorite Strawberry Pretzel Dessert ice cream (homemade!) -- recipe
coming up next.
The class includes a pattern for a pear, an apple, a tomato &
two strawberry pincushions (yes, my pear design now has friends -- and
they'll all be available in the same sewing pattern in the next couple
of weeks). I'll bring the supplies for making our strawberry
pincushions -- and I'll bring the ice cream. While
everyone's busy stitching away on their strawberries, I'll go over
the instructions for making the other fruit pincushions included in the
pattern.
Kristin has an amazing talent for putting events together. I'm pretty sure she has some other fun flourishes to add to the class as well. We'll have a good time.
So, if you're in the area & would like to attend, contact Blissful Living & sign up. Here's their adorable invitation.
I'll see you there.

hey, have you thought about an online class.?? what a concept.. love your work and the picture layout of the class is fab.. the pretzel thing looks delicis.. thanks for inspriation..

Actually, I've decided that you should come to Australia. Wouldn't that be lovely? You could visit a few different cities in different states, enjoy our sunshine (i.e. don't come now, we're in winter. Queensland is still sunny - my state, but other states are getting quite chilly) meet us great people and promote your gorgeous fabric and hold an inspiring class or two. haha :D

Just got back to CA from a glass artist conference in Portland. What was taking up all of the space in my suitcase? Yards of your lovely fabric!!! Seeing as the glass gets shipped home I home I felt an obligation to use the valuable real estate left in my suitcase for stowing away any finds. Thanks much for for providing such inspiration!

I wish I lived in Arizona, so I could to to the class! The fact that you and Jona both live there makes me even more jealous! I can't wait until the pattern comes out, I have been wanting one of those pear pincushions ever since you posted it!
I just made one of your square pincushions from the Quilts and More magazine for a swap partner. It came out so cute, I plan on making a bunch more for myself and friends!!!! Just wondering if it would be ok if I made some and gave them away on my blog? I would of course link to your blog, but I am pretty sure that everyone who reads my blog knows who you are lol

I love the strawberry pincushions: wasn't one used as a table cloth weight in one of your photos earlier? I'll have to investigate =)
As much as I'd love to have my own little strawberry, I think 5000 miles may be a bit far to travel for a lesson! I'm sure you'll have a brilliant day.

Dear Heather,
Just love your strawberry pincushions! Can't wait to see photos from your class. Ever consider coming to the New York City area? I have my own version of a strawberry pincushion - looks like a yummy ice cream sundae. Take a peek at www.frannieandme.blogspot.com

How cool! Why not an online class? You know, sign up, pay tuition, get the materials shipped to you and get a password to log in to the tutorial + pattern pages? Just a thought!

Love those cute strawberries. Any chance of them being available online as a kit? Look forward to your online store opening in June, I'm definitely ordering your fabric to make a dress for my grand-daughter. Love from Iceland.

I love your pincushions! For some reason I keep thinking artichoke!! I can't help it, my brain never stops with just one. Would a fig be too boring? My daughter would like an ice cream sundae pincushion for her projects!
