Introducing another of my new sewing patterns, the Saturday Market Bag. It's a fun and easy sew -- and perfect for toting spring things, like a picnic blanket and a good book. The pattern includes three options, including two simpler looks, one of which is reversible. And the sides of the bag unsnap for additional carrying space, so you can really go to town. Or to church. Or to market.

It is a very pretty bag. Once I get my head around the bag I'm currently sewing, I'll add it to my list (estimated completion date 2023!) .

So cute! I love that is expands. I make BIG bags like this for my daughter, she is gonna love this.

It would be great if the pattern cover or link to the pattern would show the other options. I like to know what I am getting before I spend $ for a pattern. :)

I love the bag...and the dress...is there a pattern for the dress???

We'll add the other images to the store listing. They are on the back of the pattern. We just haven't gotten to it yet.

Basically, imagine the bag without the bow and you're there. For a reversible bag, use a different fabric for the interior and skip the interior pocket.

The bag is lovely. I really like the bow; I think it adds a touch of femininity. There is that dress again. I absolutely love that dress. I still have my fingers crossed that soon there will be a pattern for the dress.

What a lovely bag...perfect for when you're out pottering around the shops on a saturday!
Posted by: Vicky | April 29, 2010 at 02:45 PM
I collect this kind of bag. For girl like me living in a tropical country, this kind of bag is of much use and it fits every day's activities - going to mall, school, work, gym, beach, picnics and more. It's trendy and especially has a bigger space to carry your things. Reversible designs are practical.

I am in love with the dress too! I am anxiously awaiting a pattern. Nicey Jane is my current favorite fabric. I bought two yard bundles (14 total) and am having a hard time cutting into them.

I love to sew so much. It's my "me" time, for a mother of 6 ages 13 and under. I know that sounds crazy! I am so in love with your designs of fabric! And, I totally love your bags! I have a few patterns I'm ready to dive in to. But, I too would absolutely love that dress pattern. Pretty please? :)
