It's
a glorious day! I won't say how long it's been since I've had a
haircut, but if my excitement is any bellwether, then you're on to me. Too long! I'm letting my hair down. My neck is thanking me. I have trimmed off six inches or more.
We're designing two new tables for the warehouse this week -- out with the old. And finishing up the backyard. I'm sending in my housewares designs and working on business-organization stuff, like training manuals and business forms. Fun! : /
The studio is clean, the dogs are bathed, the laundry is folded, the lists are made. I can take it. At least I'm no longer tangled in hair.

I love getting my haircut! It usually doesn't happen but once a year. :) Sounds like you've got everything all organized! That's an awesome feeling!

Is this photo the before or after?
Sounds like you're organized!

When I cut off 7 inches from my hair this year it felt like a huge weight lifted off my shoulders and I'd lost weight :) It's a great way to restart. Best of luck with your new changes!

I'd like to know the same thing - is this photo the "before" photo? If so, we'd like to see the "after" photo

Wow, do we get to see a picture? You are gorgeous, so you could be bald and it wouldn't matter!

If you'd gone for 9-10 inches you could have donated your hair. I'm doing that right now and I can't wait. I'm going insane with hair this long.

Next time you could cut off a little more and donate to locks of love!

ooh, I just got a hair cut too! only I left the length and got cool bangs like the ones in your pic on the right up there! Isn't it fun to pass by mirrors now?

Heather, I love your blog, and you great outlook on life....it's very inspiring ! Thanks and keep up the great work !

The photo is BEFORE. Should have mentioned that.
I couldn't lose 10 or 11 inches this time because I'm being photographed for a book this month. I'm not supposed to change my look drastically. Any other time it would have been tempting. I've gone from waist-length to a bob before and donated the ponytail. That was a big change! And fun.

Heather, I have been meaning to comment on this for a long time. You have great bangs! I love your bangs! Oh, yes, and I am obsessed with bangs. :)

Oh wow Heather, that is a lot!! I have very long hair also & I keep wondering...so you may inspire me if you put an' after' photo of you up!! Though I am sure it looks nothing short of fabulous; you would look fabulous & gorgeous even bald or with a paper bag over your head!!

You are in full spring mode! I'm so jealous of your folded laundry! I did fold the pile on the couch (left from last weekend), but there's another pile left to launder. It seems that, whenever I'm caught up in the studio, the laundry grows wrinkles waiting for me to fold it. Literally.

I heard that one pound of hair can soak up a quart of oil in one minute. A local salon is collecting hair to send to the Gulf Coast for clean up of the oil mess there. A great way to help!

I just finished making Effie and Ollie Elephant pin cushion and enjoyed the whole experience. The pattern was super easy to follow and it worked like a charm. Thank you. I think I'll make a whole company of elephants now!

I love your hair! I'm also a lover of bangs and your rock! Once my hair is longer, I'm getting them cut just like that...the almost shoulder (always flips) look doesn't sit right with the super short bangs...still love them though!
I'm about to dive into my Nicey Janes...I' love this fabric! Now to order the Effie and Ollie elephant...I can't wait!
Please share a photo of the new 'do'

I just cut off 10 inches and donated to Lock of Love. I am so happy that I did it. My new cut is fabulous and someone else will get to feel great during a horrible time.

BTW, last night I was squealing to my husband "she said cover to a BOOK", I realized I had not actually asked YOU if this means your putting out a book. My poor husband has heard me bemoan the fact that I don't have a book by Heather Bailey...so, is this your book or a contribution to someone elses?
Posted by: Kathryn | May 14, 2010 at 12:19 PM
Wow, Kathryn, thanks! It's a contribution for sure. I need more staff in order to find time for a full book. C starts kindergarten this year. That could help too.

I just cut 10 inches off my hair! It is still just below my shoulders. It was just to be trimmed and she cut way too much off. Oh well! I guess it will grow back. :)

thanks for letting me know Heather! I'll be looking for the book with a contribution from you!

ah- 6 inches off probably feels great! and it's a great time of year to do it.
i've been growing mine out for a long time now- but when it's hot like this, i wear it up in a pony tail all them time. what is the point in that?

Hi Heather,
May I know where did you guys get the dogs from? I myself is looking for a breeder to buy a puppy. Yours are so adorable. Thank you.
