Wow, so it sounds like there's a bunch of you looking for directions to
the Fossil Creek waterfall now. I did a little search in order to
provide a link, but I could only find maps of an 8 mile hike in the
area, with no information on the waterfall or how to get to it. That
won't do.
Solved! Here's a quicky-map of the 1-mile trail from the parking lot to the waterfall, with driving directions from Phoenix/ Flagstaff or from Mesa/Gilbert. Click on the image of the map to download.
Please bring a real road map too -- and sunblock. Be safe & have fun!

thanks Heather! We may head up there over fall break in October!

I think you might have better luck searching for Fossil Springs? I remember it as 4th year girls camp...if it's the same place you can either hike 7.5 miles along a flume road or you can hike a steep 1-ish mile to the falls. I loved it and have great memories of any water find in AZ!

Sure, Fossil Springs will pull up additional info, but not much on the waterfall. The hike we do isn't steep though. Perhaps we visit different spots on the stream.

Love fossil springs-fossil creek. And yes, there is a steep way in and an easy for the kids way too!;)
Heather, I love the picture of you jump/sitting your way in. I hope you frame that baby! :)

It is interesting, I will go back to read them again.
Love is a smile drinking arsenic - know it toxic, but still fun.

I haven't been there since it burned several years ago. Was always a favorite!

Those are really good directions, but for some people, it may be hard to find the barricade. After the bridge (if your coming from Strawberry), there should be a parking lot or two before the one you really want. It's much closer to the barricade. It should be the first parking lot you come to if you come from Strawberry. And the barricade is almost completely tipped over in the ditch, so don't expect it to pop out at you. If you walking from the parking lot, it's on your left.

I'm still pretty lost as to where to pull off for the parking lot. I don't recall seeing a parking lot once you're in Fossil. I know there's one at the VERY beginning when you pull off the high way...
