Nothing like a giant-mouse maxi skirt to freshen up an otherwise dull
wardrobe. This vintage get-up says something, but what exactly?
"I am a professional."
"Beware the Rodent of Unusual Size."
Nail it & I'll send you a gift of some sort. I'm in the thick of fabric design and can use a good laugh -- clearly.
I missed the end of the auction while I was out of town or I might have caved. I imagine wearing this number to the studio with a white shirt, drippy earrings, and an I'm-dead-serious business-bun. There would be a candy bar in store for whomever on my team snickered first.
Missed opportunity : (

*said in a deadpan voice...* Is this skirt cheesy?
Posted by: Hizzeather | September 21, 2010 at 11:52 PM
or is it just saying, "I'm a bit of a nutter!!" ??
Alternatively, that mouse has kind of a hypno-mouse thing happening, a kind of a "look into my eyes and then hand over the cheese" so I'm thinking this skirt is for all the brie lovers out there.
Posted by: Sheryl | September 21, 2010 at 11:54 PM
LOL! Love it! Wish you could have retrieved and worn it though! It either says "I'm a fashion victim in desperate need of attention" or "Wannabe Mickey Mouse" IDK Any way you look at it, this is a dreadfully funny skirt!
Posted by: Wendy | September 21, 2010 at 11:56 PM
I'd have to cut holes where the eyes are so my knees peeked through! Maybe then you could draw various kids of eyes on your kneecaps to brighten up you day even more (as if that skirt wouldn't be enough).
That is one very odd skirt whichever way you look at it.

To me this skirt says "I ate the cat"
Posted by: Holly | September 22, 2010 at 12:45 AM
I "mouse(must)" admit that this clothing has a certain "je ne sais croix(I don't know what)". But "cheese(geez)" it sure looks "gouda(good)"!
"Rodent(wouldn't)" you like to know what people would say if you were able to wear it?
I would say it is "mousevelous"!

I can just see a photographer wearing this and yelling "Say cheese and I'll shoot ya"
But that's just me.
And we'd love some sneaks of the new fabric. lol

"Give me the cheese platter and no one gets hurt!" or a good way to get everyone off the floor and up on chairs, "AHHHH mouse" style!

Ain't nothin' "Minnie" about me!

"Mouse is the new poodle." This thing is great!

I like to imagine the thought-process that concluded with "yep, that skirt needs a giant mouse on the front with creepy eyes and a military bearing"

Now I have to make a Rodent of Unusual Size dress for my 2yo daughter. There goes my schedule for the day.

Realy? It's a giant mouse on your cloths. Is this for an adult?
You can run, but you can't hide from "MOUSEZILLA"
Posted by: Veronica | September 22, 2010 at 05:39 AM
Perhaps wearing this skirt would scare away the mouse I hear in the cupboard. Eeeek!

...just when you thought my hair was mousy...

That would scare the crap out of my two cats! He looks purely evil... And what's with the pom-pom fringe?!
I'm a big fan of the MouseBusters comment above, she should take the cake. (I mean, cheese.)
BTW...what exactly were you searching for that you came across this auction???? Do tell.

"I'm with skirt."
Posted by: Cynthia M | September 22, 2010 at 08:13 AM
It reminds me of a school teachers skirt maybe with the thought, "this is what happened to the last student who thought they'd misbehave..."

"There's a rat in the kitchen, what am I gonna do" Sorry, I love that reggae song!

I kind of imagining it being for all those moms whose little sweet kids are trying to hide from the strangers their moms are talking to. You know the ones that hide behind their moms legs or cover their faces with moms skirt. This skirt would be perfect for that. Hide the kid (cause he's obviously too shy) and the eyes could be openings for the little darling to peek out of so they don't get claustrophobic.

my first thought was ,"Hand over the cheese and nobody gets hurt", but that thought has occurred to others before me. Have a good day!

Coach and Louis Vuitton all leave their brands in oversized ways on their products, so this is how I imagine the mice on Cinderella left their trademark on the back of the dress they made for her. Rodent chic.

I want to be Ms. Frizzle (Magic School Bus) when I grow up.
Every time I see the capybaras at Happy Hollow I simply must quote The Princess Bride. http://www.hhpz.org/index.cfm/id/70/
Posted by: Rebecca u | September 22, 2010 at 11:51 AM
Could this be what Cinderella wore on casual Fridays? Perhaps Beatrix Potter tried her hand at fabric design before she turned to children's books. Or, and lastly, was there a third mouse in Disney's arsenal: Micky, Minnie, and Maxi?

That mouse is actually a fashionista. She is slightly awkward due to her size (too much Gorgonzola cheese) But she loves parties and dressing up. Her name is Glitz and would appreciate some bling for each of lovely pink ears. Have fun wearing her....she (and you) deserve it. :)
