Class Notes...
Strawberry Pincushion Class
at Blissful Living Studio
June 28th, 2008
Ruth flew in from Pittsburgh -- in on Friday & out again on Saturday evening. Her 12-year-old daughter, Chloe, wrote me the sweetest note, which Ruth gave to me after class. Chloe had clipped a drawing from her sketchbook of her own repeated pattern entitled, "Wild Maroona" and crafted me a beaded paper dress. Ruth said that I was her daughter's Hannah Montana. That was a first! I guess while her friends are chatting on about Hannah, she's busy trying to convince them that Heather Bailey is where it's at. I expect she is met with blank stares.
I have a fun surprise in mind for Chloe, but it'll be a little while before I get to it. Chloe, if you're reading this... I keep your note on my bulletin board. It is the sweetest thing.
Jessi (at right side of photo) made me a card too! It was all goo-gah and fabulous -- with a silk strawberry and beading on the front, and was written with sparkly ink. I would never have guessed that I'd be enthralled by sparkly ink, but I was. And I had to go buy me some - Gelly Rolls by Sakura. Thanks for the tip, Jessi, and thank you for your sweet note!
Katri flew in from Fort Worth with her 8-year-old daughter. Hello, marilyn-monroe-gorgeous! Her little girl wore a ready-made dress that Katri had appliqued little birds and flowers all over - basically, she cooled it up. Katri was a strawberry-making natural and didn't really need much help from me. Kristin (owner of Blissful Living) provided Jones Soda strawberry smoothies and dished up the homemade ice cream. We had fresh strawberries, good company and a fantastic Saturday making pincushions. Everyone was a delight. Check out Blissful Living. I purposefully didn't crop any of these photos tighter, so you could peek at how charming this place is (though it's a bit dark in the photos). |
